We've been open for 2 weeks at our new library and are loving seeing everyone back after being closed a bit longer than expected. Thank you so much for your patience while we were closed and we hope you love the new library as much as we do!

When you visit the library, please enter the parking lot from S. Old Middletown Road and drive around to the rear of the building to park and enter the library. There is some exterior work still being completed to so please know we are open & be aware of any signage directing to enter through a different door. 

Now that we're getting our feet wet and adopting new routines to account for the bigger space, we are looking to expand our hours to better serve the community. We would love your feedback! Please complete the short survey by Monday, October 25th to have your preferences considered. 

Lastly, please save the date for two upcoming events:

• Friday & Saturday November 5th & 6th will be our Grand Opening Celebration
• Friday, November 12th from 7-9pm is our annual Craft Beer Fest. The evening will feature seasonal craft beer from 2SP & Conshohocken Brewing Co., live music, food and fun in support of the Library! Tickets are now available HERE.

The library is now open for curbside services at the new location! 

While we wait for the final work to be completed at the new library, we are happy to welcome you back with curbside service. You may request items from our Library as well as other Delaware County Libraries to pick-up, renew or get a library card, or say "hi" to your favorite library staff!

Curbside service is available Mondays through Fridays from 10am to 6 pm. 

Have items you need to return but can't make it during our current hours? You may return your items to the drop box when the library is closed. Please make sure your items go all the way into the box and please do not leave any items that don't fit laying next to, on top of or anywhere outside the box. 

Things are really starting to come together at the new library. There will be plenty of seating options in our new space. Teens will have their own space with lounge seating and a collaborative workspace. The main area will have plenty of options for working, reading or meeting!
We are really excited about the new, dedicated makerspace on the 2nd Floor. We'll finally have space designed for all kinds of creative projects. Besides maker programs, you will be able to reserve equipment and time to come in and work on your own projects. We're working on the details and hours and will share more information soon!

Last week the library staff, board & volunteers were busy moving and unpacking crates of books, movies and other materials at the new library. We are on a brief pause while the construction crew brings in some special equipment to move the heavy stone casters for the stairs. Over the next couple of weeks staff will be busy moving the rest of the items to the new library and developing new procedures to help us be ready to welcome you to the new library at the Roosevelt Community Center.

We appreciate all your patience during the closure and hope to set an opening date soon!

The staff has been busy behind the scenes measuring collections, combing through file cabinets, and packing up the library's contents to prepare for our big move. It's like an episode of Clean Sweep as we make piles of items to keep, sell or donate. 

Monday, July 26th was a big day in our journey to the new library. Bok Read has been working on crafting a handmade wood circulation desk which will be the first thing you see when you walk into the atrium of the new building. His beautiful desk arrived at Roosevelt on Monday morning along with family & friends who helped move it from his workshop into the library. It took some on the spot calculations to figure out how to fit it through the doors but with a lot of people & brain power, the desk is now in its new home. 

Meanwhile, back at the Pennell Road location, the crates and volunteers arrived to start the process of packing up the shelves to be moved to the new library. Unfortunately we had a few setbacks so the staff worked amongst the crates this week and we are excited to get started moving the contents from Pennell Road to the Roosevelt Community Center. 

All the furniture is arriving and being set up and it looks so good! We're getting close to the end and can't wait to welcome you all to our new home!

On Tuesday, July 20th, our furniture installation team began installing the shelving at the new library. Staff have been busy measuring our collections and boxing up offices to prepare for the start of the move next week.

Volunteers will be arriving at the library Monday morning to start packing crates to deliver the library's contents to the new library!

The new library is located at the Roosevelt Community Center at 464 S. Old Middletown Road. This is right across the street from the Wayside Market and behind the Middletown Fire Company. As you can see, it's less than 10 minutes from the Pennell Road location. 

We look forward to welcoming you to our new home later this summer!

Are you 16 or older and looking to get involved with the library? We could use some helping hands to pack up the items on our shelves and get them on the shelves at our new library!

We have hired professional library movers, Overton & Associates, to organize and oversee the move. If you are able to do physical work and can commit to a 4 hours shift for 5-7 days then you are just the the person we need! The tentative dates are July 22nd-30th (weekdays only). 

You'll have the opportunity to be one of the first to see the inside of the new library!

We can't wait for you to see all the exciting things we have in store at the new library. One of the most fun parts of the process was working with our designer, Lynn Godshall of GCI Design, Inc., to select furniture for the new space.
