A background check must be completed by all Middletown Free Library employees prior to employment. Anyone employed by the library age 14 and older must complete a report of criminal history from the PA State Police, Child Abuse History Clearance from the Dept. of Public Welfare as well as a fingerprint based federal criminal history (FBI). Library employees are considered Mandated Reporters under 23 Pa. C.S.A. § 6311.
