Ages 3.5 – 5.5 yrs.
Stories, songs, rhymes, finger plays & coloring, and playtime! For this nontraditional storytime, preschoolers are given magnetic objects to put on a scene page to create their own story to share with everyone. Great for encouraging creativity, imagination, story-building, and to get over shyness!
Monster Challenge

Middletown Free Library presents its Monthly Challenge, and June is The Monster Challenge.
For it’s Monthly Challenge, Middletown Free Library will be hosting the Monster Challenge in honor of “Monsters University” coming out in movie theaters. Mr. Jason will split kids into teams and give each team a set of supplies and 30 minutes to make their very own monster. The team with the best monster will win tickets to see “Monsters University” in theaters!!

The Parent-Child Workshop
The Parent-Child Workshop is a 5 week series of classes where the parent and child play with various age-appropriate, educational, toys while surrounded by other parents and children. During each program there is also a resource professional ready to answer any questions a parent might have.
This 5 week workshop covers such topics as orientation and early literature; speech, hearing, and language development; child development; nutrition; and music, play, and health.
Registration is REQUIRED!!!!

Pajama Story Time
Come dressed in your pajamas and enjoy stories, songs, rhymes, and playtime to get ready for bed!

Story Time Yoga with Miss Lisa
It is a fusion of our Kids’ and Preschool Yoga Classes! Miss Lisa will read a book then teach poses and breathing techniques to kids between the ages of 3 and 9. Come in your comfy clothes and the library will provide the yoga mats. See the benefits of yoga for your kids and enjoy this free Yoga class with our wonderful Miss Lisa.

Kiddie Krafts!
Children and their caregivers are given access to the library’s art supplies in this unstructured craft time! You can make whatever your imagination can create to hang on the fridge at home, or give it to Mr. Jason to decorate the Children’s Area!

Held on the last Thursday of every month from 10:30am-11:30am in the Community Room downstairs.

Paper-folders meet and Mr. Jason will show how to fold some pretty cool, simple origami pieces. As the Club progresses, we will be folding more complex ones.

Astronomy Club
Once a month we will get together and discuss, learn, and make things found in our special universe.
For children in grades 4 and above.
Thursday, April 25th @ 6pm = Earth vs Jupiter. We will discuss the differences between Earth and Jupiter, and conduct an edible experiment in which we create our own Earths and Jupiters.

Comic Book Club!
Middletown Free Library and Showcase Comics have teamed up to start a COMIC BOOK CLUB! Comic book fans ages 10 and older are invited to come to our monthly meetings as we learn about the history of comics, talk about some of our favorite heroes and series, swap recommendations, and get a FREE comic from Showcase Comics each meeting.

Teen Open Mic Night
2nd & 4th Wednesday each month, 6-8pm
@ Aurora Cafe in Granite Run Mall
Middletown Free Library and Aurora Cafe have partnered up for a Teen Open Mic. A local house band will perform, with interested teen and adult performers signing up to showcase their talents between the band’s set. Poets, singers, songwriters, musicians, and storytellers are invited! Bring your MP3 players to hook into the sound system, your instruments, or sing acapella.
